Terms of Service

Welcome to Top Choice. These terms form the agreement between you and Beijing Yuanzhijing Technology Co., Ltd. ("we", "us") governing your use of the Top Choice app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What the Service is

Top Choice is a decision guidance tool. It performs a traditional yarrow-stalk casting of the I Ching (Book of Changes), presents the resulting hexagram and classic texts — based on James Legge's 1882 English translation, which is in the public domain — and can generate an AI-assisted reading that relates the casting to the question you asked.

2. What the Service is not

Not professional advice. Readings and AI interpretations are provided for reflection and reference only. They are not medical, psychological, legal, financial, or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for the judgment of a qualified professional. Decisions you make remain entirely your own responsibility.

No predictive warranty. We do not warrant that a reading will predict any outcome. The Service offers a framework for thinking through a question — nothing more.

3. Accounts and guest mode

You may use the Service without an account (guest mode). In guest mode your records stay on your device.
You may sign in with your email or with Sign in with Apple to sync records across devices. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure.
You may delete your account at any time in the app (Me → Account → Delete account). Deletion is immediate and irreversible, and removes your records and credit balance as described in the Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or the higher minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

4. Credits and in-app purchases

The Service uses virtual credits. Some actions (such as requesting an AI reading beyond the free daily allowance) consume credits. Free credits are granted at our discretion and may change.
Credits can be purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. Your purchase is a transaction with Apple, governed by Apple's own terms; we do not process or store your payment details.
Credits have no cash value, are not transferable, and cannot be exchanged for money. Except where required by law or by Apple's policies, purchases are final and non-refundable; refund requests are handled by Apple.
Unused credits expire if your account is deleted (by you, or by us for breach of these terms).
We may adjust credit prices and what credits can be spent on, with notice in the app. Adjustments do not apply retroactively to credits you already hold.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

abuse, scrape, or overload the Service, or attempt to bypass quotas or the credit system;
use the Service for anything unlawful, or to harass, defraud, or harm others;
probe or attack the Service's security, or access other users' data;
resell or commercially redistribute the Service or its content without our written permission.

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms.

6. Intellectual property

The Legge translation texts are in the public domain.
The app, its design, artwork, and original written content are ours and protected by law; you may not copy them except as the app itself allows (e.g. sharing a reading).
Your questions remain yours. We claim no ownership over the text you enter. You grant us the limited license needed to process it (store it for your account, send it to the AI provider to generate your reading), as described in the Privacy Policy.
AI-generated readings are provided for your personal use; you may save and share them.

7. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated text will be accurate or suitable for your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service — including decisions made in reliance on a reading. Our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or US$10 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, or limits consumer rights you hold under mandatory local law.

9. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the HKIAC seated in Hong Kong, except that (a) either party may seek interim relief in a competent court, and (b) if you are a consumer, nothing in this section overrides the mandatory protections or venue rights of your home jurisdiction.

10. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. The current version is always at top-choice.app/terms.
